
An influx of Chrysaora jellyfish has overwhelmed a Californian aquarium's water filtration system. The Monterey Bay Aquarium pumps gallons of water from the bay into its tanks, and this week a surge in the jellyfish population caused thousands of jellies to drift towards the aquarium and crack a filtration screen. Astonished aquarium workers now have the unenviable task of sifting ground-up jellyfish from the water pumps.
